MANCHESTER, N.H. — The Saint Anselm College women's golf team hosted its lone home event of the fall at Derryfield Country Club on Tuesday, placing second and sixth with two teams competing for the Hawks.
Saint Anselm, Adelphi, Assumption, Bentley, and Franklin Pierce competed on the 5,624-yard, par-70 course, consisting of 14 par four holes, three par threes, and one par five. Adelphi won the one-day tournament after Monday's opening round was canceled due to rain, combining for 325 (+45) between the Panthers' top four golfers.
The Hawks placed second at +51, followed by Bentley at +64, Franklin Pierce at +68, Assumption at +72, and Saint Anselm's second group at +118. Lorelai Flanagan led a group of 32 golfers on the individual leaderboard, shooting a 72 (+2) for the Ravens.
How it Happened
- Freshman Isabella Scioletti led the Hawks and came in a tie for second place with a 77 (+7), the best individual finish and lowest round total of her career.
- Freshman Bianca Ligotti placed sixth overall with an 80 (+10) while classmate Carley Iannetta came in a tie for ninth, at +14.
- Senior Lydia Tufts finished with 90 (+20) strokes, with sophomore Ella Graham close behind with 96 (+26) strokes on the afternoon.
- Leading the second group for the Hawks was freshman Alaina Morris, who tied with Graham in 21st place, shooting a 96 (+26).
- Seniors Abby McGonigle (+32) and Hope Marcou (+34) made their season debuts for the Hawks, while freshman Isabella Fernald and junior Madison O'Connor also competed for the first time this fall.
