GOFFSTOWN, N.H. —The Saint Anselm College women's golf team placed fourth after the second and final round of the Northeast 10 Championship at Stonebridge Country Club on Wednesday.
In the second round of golf on the par-72, 5,856-yard course, the Hawks shot a 358 (+70), ending the mid-week tournament at 719 (+143) strokes, improving on yesterday's performance by three strokes.
Adelphi won the two-day tournament, shooting a 664 (+88) as a team, led by Filippa Schulze-Doering, who placed second out of 29 golfers, combining to go 20 strokes over par, finishing with 164 (+20) strokes.
Bentley's Isabel Gonzalez-Villarreal won the individual title, leading the Falcons to a second-place finish, shooting a 150 (+6) in total, having the best round of the tournament, finishing the second round in 73 (+1) strokes.
Franklin Pierce placed third at +138, Assumption placed fifth at +168, and Jefferson came in sixth place at +182.
How it Happened
- Freshman Isabella Scioletti had the third-best round of the day, climbing up the leaderboard from 14th yesterday to 10th, shooting a 79 (+7) on Tuesday to finish at +25.
- Senior Lydia Tufts also had a great second round, shooting an 86 (+14) as she placed 17th overall, combining to go +40 after two rounds.
- Freshman Carley Iannetta fell one spot in the rankings from yesterday, placing 13th, shooting an 89 (+17) as she finished at +33.
- Freshman Bianca Ligotti placed 21st, finishing the tournament with 189 strokes (+45), and sophomore Ella Graham came in 25th at +60.
