MANCHESTER, N.H. – First-year head coach
Harry Oringer and the Saint Anselm College baseball team announced their 2024 season schedule on Thursday.
The Hawks begin the 2024 campaign in Myrtle Beach South Carolina on Friday, Feb. 16 for a three-day, four-game weekend series against the Owls of Southern Connecticut State University. Saint Anselm continues their road trip with a three-game series against Saint Michael's College from Northboro, Mass. beginning on Saturday, Feb. 24 before another three game set at East Stroudsburg University (Pa.) the following weekend.
Over the Spring Break, the squad travels to Cary, North Carolina to open play against Dominican University (N.Y.) at the USA Baseball National Training Complex. The Hawks look to secure their ninth consecutive win against the Chargers before facing the College of Saint Rose and Barton College on the same trip.
For the rest of March, Saint Anselm remains on the road taking on four opponents from across NCAA Division II. The Hawks battle Slippery Rock University (Pa.) for a two-game clash scheduled for Saturday, Mar. 16 followed by another game against The Rock the next day. Saint Anselm returns to the region for back-to-back road doubleheaders versus the University of New Haven and Southern Connecticut State starting on Saturday, Mar. 23 and concluding Sunday, Mar. 24. The Hawks round out the month with their first conference series slated for Saturday, Mar. 30, a three-game set at Saint Michael's.
Saint Anselm is scheduled to make its Sullivan Park home debut on Friday, Apr. 5 against crosstown rivals Southern New Hampshire University and will also welcome Franklin Pierce University, American International College, and Saint Rose to the Hilltop thorughout the month of April.
The Hawks then travel to New York for two doubleheaders against NE10 foes Adelphi University and Pace University before returning to New England on Saturday, Apr. 27 to face Bentley in a twin bill. The Hawks close the 2024 regular season at home versus Assumption University in their final three-game series beginning on Friday, May 3.
The Saint Anselm College baseball team posted an 11-35 overall record last spring with a 7-17 mark in NE10 Northeast Division play. The Hawks made two consecutive NE10 postseason appearances in 2021 and 2022. The squad collected 22 overall wins during the 2022 season – the most since 2012 and the sixth most in a single season.
