SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Saint Anselm College baseball completed its rain-delayed doubleheader against American International College on Tuesday afternoon at Richard F. Bedard Field, earning a win in game two to salvage a split of the season series.
Game 1 – American Int'l 9 (10-9), Saint Anselm 4 (5-10)

Sophomores Jackson Powers and George Slauson both went 1-for-3 at the dish, as Slauson's lone hit was a double. Powers scored twice, notched one RBI, and stole two bases.
How it Happened
On Sunday morning, the Hawks got out to a 1-0 lead as Kaluza led things off with a double before being knocked in by Powers two batters later. The Yellow Jackets took a 2-1 lead in the bottom half of the inning with a two-out triple from Leandro Guevara kicking off the scoring.
In the second, Kaluza drove in a single down the left field line, scoring Fischer to tie the contest at 2-2.
Fischer gave the Hawks their one-run lead back in the top of the third, sending Powers in to score with a sacrifice fly to center. American Int'l then put together a three-run rally, led by a solo homer off the bat of Josh Frometa, to take a 5-3 lead. With one out and the bases loaded, the game was halted and was scheduled to be restarted on Tuesday afternoon.
Resuming action at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Saint Anselm's starting pitcher Preston Cote was replaced by Cooper Hagen.
AIC capped off the inning on Tuesday with four additional runs to increase their advantage to six runs.
Powers scored the game's final run in the top of the seventh, crossing the plate on a wild pitch, to wrap up the game with a 9-4 final score.

How it Happened
The Hawks began game two by getting out to a one-run lead in the opening frame as Powers knocked in Kaluza with an RBI groundout.
Their lead grew to two runs in the top of the second inning, as a single to center field off the bat of Gonzalez scored Douglas from third.
After scoreless third and fourth innings, Bourdeau stepped up to the plate and hit a single, sending junior Austin Brune home from third. Douglas added to the lead with a sacrifice fly to left field, bringing Kaluza home, as the Hawks led 4-0 after the top of the fifth.
The Yellow Jackets scored two runs over the sixth and seventh innings, but the Hawks extended their lead in the eighth with a triple from Gonzalez followed by a wild pitch allowing him to score from third.
Saint Anselm secured their final run in the ninth, first with Kaluza crossing the plate on a wild pitch, followed by a single from Fischer to send Slauson home.
American Int'l scored a single run in the bottom half of the ninth with a two-out solo homer from Wesley Alfonso, but the game ended two batters later as Ramseyer struck out the side to secure the win.
