Men's Cross Country Wrap Up Weekend at Paul Short Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Saint Anselm College men's cross country team competed at the Paul Short Invitational on Saturday finishing in 24th place out of 34 teams with a total of 609 points.

UP NEXT:
  • Saint Anselm will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 7th competing in the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State University. 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Junior Steven Cormier (Reading, Mass.) led the men's squad with his 27:37.1 finish to place 81st overall out of over 350 runners competing in the race. 
  • Following behind him was senior Chris Hogan (Plymouth, Mass.) finishing in 105th place with a time of 27:52.2. 
  • Soph0more Neil Harrington claimed the third-best finish for the team after crossing the finish line in 28:09.9, good for 134th place, followed closely by classmate Andrew Keene (Kennebunk, Maine) in 153rd place. 
  • Senior Tyler Scopelites (Litchfield, N.H.) and graduate student Alex Horan (Clifton, Va.) finished in 167th and 169th, respectively for the Hawks. Seniors Trevor Scoeplites (Litchfield, N.H.) and Josh Nottebart (Pelham, N.H.) weren't far behind finishing around the 28:40 time mark. 
  • Senior Adam Wong (Westminster, Mass.) was the last Hawk to crack the top-200 finishing with a time of 28:53.6 to secure 189th place. 
HAWKS SPOTLIGHT:
  • "I think everyone ran a solid race today," said Steven Cormier (Reading, Mass.). "We have a great group of guys who are super competitive. Everyone has been working very hard and we're going to get after it this week in practice and show the rest of the league what we're capable of the remainder of the season."
