The Hawks split a non-conference doubleheader on Mar. 12 with Assumption as the team dropped game one by a 6-1 score before collecting a 6-3 win in game two, pushing the team to 3-13 on the season. Following the pair of twinbills, Saint Anselm is set to host Le Moyne College from Gill Stadium in downtown Manchester, N.H. on Saturday, Mar. 25 and Sunday, Mar. 26.
The Golden Knights last played on Mar. 9 at Benedict College and claimed a 14-4 win, which improved the squad to 4-8 on the season. Following the four-game series with the Hawks, Saint Rose is set to open its Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division slate against Pace on Saturday, Mar. 25 and Sunday, Mar. 26.
HAWKS NOTES
- Sophomore Daniel Scolaro (Quincy, Mass.) slugged the first home run of his collegiate career in game two against the Greyhounds. He later added his second homer in the seventh inning of that contest. Scolaro leads the Hawks with a .255 batting average.
- Senior Matt Collins (Beverly, Mass.) has recorded a team-high 14 hits this season and is tied for the squad lead with 10 runs scored. Collins is batting .241 in 2023.
- Junior Richie Williams (Georgetown, Mass.), senior Mike Borrelli (Salisbury, Mass.), and senior Mike Pierro (North Andover, Mass.) rank third, fourth, and fifth on the squad in batting average.
- Borrelli is tied for second on the team with 13 hits, joining Scolaro, while Pierro is tied with Collins for the team lead with 10 runs scored.
- Pierro needs just six hits to reach the 100-career hits mark as he sits at 94 in his time on the Hilltop.
- Senior Will Panarello (Barrington, R.I.) has hit three home runs, which is a team high, and is the Hawks leader with 11 runs batted in.
- Junior Dallas Vaughan (Haverhill, Mass.) registered his first win in a Hawks uniform on Sunday after allowing three runs on seven hits in eight innings of work. Vaughan fanned a season-high nine batters in the win.
- Vaughan and sophomore Adam Betty (Lowell, Mass.) have started five games each for Saint Anselm this season. Senior Avery Mosseau (Bedford, N.H.) follows closely with four starts.
- Vaughan leads the pitching staff with 27.2 innings pitched and 29 strikeouts. Betty is second at 19.0 innings pitched.
- Senior Taylor French (Goffstown, N.H.) has made a team-high seven appearances in 2023 and has grabbed two saves in 9.0 total innings pitched.
- The Hawks defense is operating at a fielding percentage of 0.949. Panarello has had a team-high 100 chances and owns a 1.000 fielding percentage.
SCOUTING SAINT ROSE
- The Golden Knights offense is led by Vince Venditti who is currently batting .426 with a team-high 20 hits. Venditti has driven in 15 runs which also leads the team.
- Jack McDonald and James Ward are tied for the Saint Rose lead with three big flies apiece. Ward ranks second on the team with 14 runs batted in while McDonald is third with 11.
- Ryan McGee is tied with Ward for third on the squad with 12 hits apiece, trailing McDonald's 16.
- Tom Cattaneo and Chase Carroll have started three games each on the mound for the Golden Knights. Cattaneo holds a 2-2 record with a team-high 16.1 innings pitched. Carroll has struck out a team-high 26 batters in 2023.
- Matthew Tiberia and Greg Allard have made four appearances each out of the bullpen. Tiberia has collected one save for the Golden Knights.
- The defense is operating at .951 this season. The team has committed 19 errors in 387 chances.

- The Hawks and Golden Knights have played 43 times in the all-time series with Saint Rose holding a 23-20 edge in the series.
- The programs have not met since Mar. 25, 2018 in a neutral site doubleheader from Rindge, N.H.
- Saint Rose took both of those contests which extended the current Golden Knights winning streak to six games.
