MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College baseball team heads to Waterbury, Conn. to battle Post University in a pair of non-conference doubleheaders on Friday, Feb. 10 and Sunday, Feb. 12.
Friday's doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. first pitches while Sunday's twinbill is scheduled for 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. starts.

The Hawks suffered three losses to nationally-regarded University of North Carolina Pembroke to open the season, dropping the team to 0-3 in the early going of the 2023 campaign. Following the four-game series with the Eagles, Saint Anselm will be off until Saturday, Feb. 25 when they play the first two games of a three-game set against East Stroudsburg University from East Stroudsburg, Pa.
The Eagles are making their season debut against the Hawks in the four game series. Post turned in a 25-27 record in 2022 with a 17-8 record in conference play. The team saw its season come to a close in the CACC Championship series, falling to Wilmington (Del.) University. Following the series with the Hawks, Post will meet Adelphi University from Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Friday, Feb. 24.
HAWKS NOTES
- Through the first three games of the season, seniors Brady Doran (Seneca, S.C.) and Matt Collins (Beverly, Mass.) lead the Hawks offense with .333 and .300 batting averages respectively.
- Doran and senior Mike Borrelli (Salisbury, Mass.) have driven in two runs apiece with Collins, freshman Ben Rose (Webster, N.H.), and junior Richie Williams (Georgetown, Mass.) registering one RBI each.
- With just 10 and 15 hits each, Borelli and senior Mike Pierro (North Andover, Mass.) can reach the 100 career hits mark.
- Sophomore Adam Betty (Lowell, Mass.), junior Dallas Vaughan (Haverhill, Mass.), and senior Avery Mosseau (Bedford, N.H.) started one game each in the series with UNC Pembroke. Betty leads the squad with 4.0 innings pitched while Vaughan is the team leader with six strikeouts.
- Freshman Andrew MacDonald (Amesbury, Mass.), junior Hunter Harris (Altamont, N.Y.), and senior Taylor French (Goffstown, N.H.) did not allow a run in their appearances over the weekend and lead the team with 0.00 earned-run averages.
- The Saint Anselm defense owns a .921 fielding percentage through the first three games. The team committed eight errors in 101 changes in the series with the Braves. Senior Will Panarello (Barrington, R.I.) has a 1.000 fielding percentage out of a team-high 17 chances.
SCOUTING POST
- The Eagles were projected to finished second in the CACC North Division of the Preseason Coaches' Poll, trailing Felician University by five points for the top spot in the North.
- Post returns 28 student-athletes from the 2022 roster. Head coach Ray Skjold enters his fourth season at the helm of the Eagles baseball program.
- Robert Olah was named to the 2023 NCBWA Preseason All-East Region Team as a first baseman in January. Olah collected All-CACC First Team, NCBWA All-East Region First Team, D2CCA All-East Region Second Team, and ABCA/Rawlings All-East Region Team honors after batting .382 last season. Olah drove in 71 runs while collecting 73 hits, 30 of which went for extra bases (15 doubles, four triples, 11 home runs).
- Jimmy Brennan, Evan Cornwell, Michael Pavelchack, and Hunter Keller all return for Post as key contributors from last season's offense. Each student-athlete batted over .260 and played in 46 or more games.
- Jacob Tamburrino led the Eagles with 16 appearances on the mound last season. Tamburrino also made six starts and posted a 3.68 earned-run average in a team-high 58.2 innings pitched.
- Joe Christiana, Dan Raglievich, Nico Gaudio, and Matt Goehrig also return as some of the top pitchers for the Eagles from last season's squad.
ALL-TIME vs. POST
- Following completion of the four-game series, the Hawks and Eagles will have met 13 times in baseball. Saint Anselm is 5-4 against Post in the all-time series.
- After not meeting since the spring of 2016, the programs battled four times from Mar. 4, 2022 through Mar. 6, 2022 from Truist Point in High Point, N.C.
- The Hawks took three of four from the Eagles in that series, opening with a 4-2 win on Mar. 4 before splitting a doubleheader the following day. Saint Anselm won game one by a 15-7 score before falling in the second game by a 12-2 score. The Hawks wrapped up the series with a 9-0 shutout win.
