MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College baseball team is back in action with a three-game series at East Stroudsburg University between Sunday, Feb. 26 and Monday, Feb. 27.

The programs will play a doubleheader on Sunday with the start time scheduled for an 11 a.m. start while Monday's single game is slated for an 11 a.m. first pitch.

The Hawks dropped both games of its twinbill to Post University on Feb. 12, dropping the team to 1-6 on the season. Following the trip to East Stroudsburg, Pa., Saint Anselm heads to Cary, N.C. for four games from the USA Baseball Training Complex from Friday, Mar. 3 through Sunday, Mar. 5.

The Warriors, who are receiving votes in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and are No. 19 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll, are 6-2 in the early going. The team most recently took all four games from the College of Saint Rose on Feb. 19 and Feb. 20. East Stroudsburg will host nationally-ranked Southern New Hampshire University on Friday, Mar. 3 and Saturday, Mar. 4 following the series with the Hawks.

HAWKS NOTES

• Senior Brady Doran (Seneca, S.C.) leads the Hawks with a .333 batting average in six games played this season. Doran has been credited with a team leading two doubles and six runs batted in.
• Junior Zack Clough (Newbury, Mass.) ranks second on the team with a .276 batting average but leads the squad with eight hits this season.
• With six hits, senior Mike Borrelli (Salisbury, Mass.) can reach the 100-career hits mark. On the season, Borrelli has four hits and has driven in five runs, which is tied for second most on the team.
• Sophomore Adam Betty (Lowell, Mass.), junior Dallas Vaughan (Haverhill, Mass.), and senior Avery Mosseau (Bedford, N.H.) have drawn two starts each for the Hawks this season. Betty has pitched a team-high 10.0 innings while Vaughan has fanned 11 batters.
• Senior Will Panarello (Barrington, R.I.) leads the Hawks defense with a 1.000 fielding percentage in a team-high 39 chances.

SCOUTING EAST STROUDSBURG

• Four Warriors are batting over .300 in the early going of 2023 season, led by Connor Reilly who is batting an even .500 in 10 at-bats.
• Victor Cruz has totaled a team-high eight runs batted in with Jack Rothenhausler following closely with seven.
• Rothenhausler leads the team with nine hits and is responsible for one of the three home runs hit by the Warriors this season.
• Brent Francisco, Tom Reisinger, and Chase Nowak have all drawn two starts apiece for East Stroudsburg on the mound. Francisco leads the team with a 1.50 earned runs average while Reisinger has 12.1 innings pitched and a team-high 15 strikeouts.
• Rothenhausler and Reilly have 1.000 fielding percentages in 37 and 36 chances each. The team owns a .978 fielding percentage.

ALL-TIME vs. EAST STROUDSBURG

• East Stroudsburg is 4-3 against Saint Anselm in baseball all-time. Upon conclusion of the three-game series, the programs will have battled 10 times.
• The squads most recently met on Feb. 19, 2022 in a doubleheader from Sutherland, Va. with both games in the season-opening doubleheader going to the Warriors.
• The Hawks posted a 10-1 win on Mar. 16, 2019 which stands as the most recent victory for Saint Anselm.
