MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College baseball team is set to battle No. 12 Southern New Hampshire University in a four-game Northeast-10 Conference series, starting on Thursday, Apr. 7 at Sullivan Park.
Thursday's first pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. from Sullivan Park. Friday's nine-inning game will start at 3 p.m. while Sunday has been changed to a doubleheader, starting at 10 a.m.

The Hawks took three of four games from Bentley University last weekend, grabbing wins each of the first three games before falling in the finale on Sunday, Apr. 2. Saint Anselm improves to 11-15 overall and 4-4 in NE10 Northeast Division play. After hosting Southern New Hampshire in the Queen City Cup series, the Hawks head to Franklin Pierce University for a pair of doubleheaders on Friday, Apr. 15 and Saturday, Apr. 16.
The Penmen captured a 5-3 non-conference win over the University of Bridgeport on Apr. 5, improving to 17-5 on the season. The team enters the weekend series with a 4-0 mark in conference games. After making the cross-town trip, Southern New Hampshire hosts Saint Thomas Aquinas College in a non-conference tilt on Wednesday, Apr. 13. The Penmen are the No. 12 ranked team in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll and are No. 14 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll.
SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- Junior Brady Doran (Greenville, S.C.) led the Hawks in the four-game series at Bentley with a .545 batting average, recording six hits in 11 at-bats including one double and one home run. The junior scored eight runs for the Hawks while driving in three.
- Senior Kyle Maurice (Exeter, N.H.) was eight-of-16 at Bentley, batting an even .500. He drove in six runs with one home run and three doubles.
- Maurice leads Saint Anselm with a .376 batting average. He has scored 24 runs, notched 32 hits, has hit six home runs, and driven in 28 runs, all of which lead the Hawks. When compared to the NE10, Maurice is third in runs batted in and tied for second in home runs. His batting average is ninth best in the conference.
- Sophomore Nolan Elmore (Brentwood, N.H.) launched two home runs and drove in eight runs against the Falcons. Elmore ranks second on the Hawks with five home runs and with 21 runs batted in this season.
- In 2022, junior Mike Borrelli (Salisbury, Mass.) and senior Matt Collins (Beverly, Mass.) are batting over .300 with Borrelli at .346 and Collins at .306.
- Sophomores Will Hunter (Middleton, Mass.) and Matthew Michel (Haverhill, Mass.) and freshman Adam Betty (Lowell, Mass.) collected wins on the mound for the Hawks while junior Avery Mosseau (Bedford, N.H.) posted a save in the series.
- Hunter leads the Hawks pitching staff with eight appearances. He is 2-0 with a 4.82 earned-run average. Junior John Donovan (Lowell, Mass.) has started a team-high seven games for Saint Anselm.
- Saint Anselm owns a .969 fielding percentage which is the second best mark in the NE10. The team has committed 26 errors in 850 chances. Maurice has a 1.000 fielding percentage in 101 chances. Borrelli has made three errors in a team-high 157 chances.
SCOUTING SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE
- Sam Henrie and Nick Schwartz led the Penmen offense with batting averages of .384 and .383. The duo ranks fifth and is tied for sixth in the NE10 in batting average.
- Henrie leads the team with 33 hits in 86 at-bats. He is tied for the team lead in doubles with seven and is the team leader with six round trippers. Henrie has driven in 23 runs which leads the squad.
- Schwartz has registered 23 hits in 60 at-bats. He has scored 16 runs while registering seven doubles, one triple, and one home run with 11 runs batted in.
- Danniel Rivera has scored 32 runs which is second most in the NE10. Rivera is one of six student-athletes who are batting over .300 and played in at least 18 games. Joining Henrie, Schwartz, and Rivera is Cristian Mercedes, Cam Caraher, and Dakota Mulcay.
- Trevor Anibal has made eight appearances in relief for the Penmen. He owns a 3-0 record with two saves and a 0.78 earned run average in 23.0 innings pitched.
- Brandon White has made six starts for Southern New Hampshire. He leads the team with 31.1 innings pitched and is 3-1 with a 3.16 earned run average. Josh Roberge and Angus McCloskey have drawn five starts each. Both havs recorded 26 or more innings pitched and have earned run averages under 3.40. Roberge leads the squad with 37 strikeouts.
- Southern New Hampshire has a .967 fielding percentage. They have 26 errors in 784 chances which puts them in fourth in the NE10 in fielding percentage. Mulcay has committed just one error in a team-high 144 chances while Michael LaRocca has yet to commit an error in 71 chances.
ALL-TIME vs. SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE
- Upon conclusion of the four-game series, the Hawks and Penmen will have met 138 times in program history. The Penmen are 84-50 against Saint Anselm all-time.
- The teams met in a non-conference battle on Mar. 30 with the Penmen posting a 10-5 victory. Elmore led the Hawks offense in that contest, going three-for-four at the plate and drove in two runs. Doran launched a three-run home run in the ninth, which was he second big fly of the season.
- The Penmen are currently riding a 25-game win streak over the Hawks, starting on Apr. 11, 2013. The Hawks posted a win on Apr. 4, 2013, grabbing a 6-3 victory at Southern New Hampshire.
