The Hawks own a 5-7 record so far this season, but have won just once in six Northeast-10 Conference fixtures. Wednesday evening's single game will be a non-conference game – the four NE10 contests against the Ravens are schedule for Saturday, Apr. 17 and Sunday, Apr. 18.
Franklin Pierce, who began the season in the top-25 national poll from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, is receiving votes this week. The Ravens have sprinted out to a 9-2 overall record, winning five consecutive games entering play on Wednesday. They own a 6-2 record against NE10 opponents.
No off-campus spectators of any kind will be permitted to attend Wednesday's game played at Franklin Pierce.

SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- The Hawks struggled against Bentley in Monday's doubleheader, dropping both games. Bentley jumped out to an 8-0 lead in game one and never looked back, punishing the Saint Anselm pitchers with 14 hits. The Falcons got off to a hot start in game two as well, scoring the game's first five runs on the way to two convincing victories.
- The Falcons eased their way to two wins with the help of nine Saint Anselm wild pitches, two hit batters, 15 walks and six Hawks miscues in the field. While Saint Anselm hit a robust .295 (18-for-61) on the afternoon, Bentley had 21 hits in 67 at-bats (.313) and committed only one fielding error.
- Junior Matt Collins (Beverly, Mass.) finished up the four-game series against the Falcons by leading the team with seven hits in 14 at-bats (.500), smacking two doubles and drawing three walks.
- Through just six games played, junior Mike Pierro (North Andover, Mass.) is batting 11-for-19 so far, a .579 average, and has played errorless defense in the field. He has also reached base in each of his six contests so far.
- Junior Kyle Maurice (Exeter, N.H.) is the Hawks leading hitter among qualifying batting averages, hitting .351 with 13 hits in 37 at-bats. He has driven in a league-leading 18 runners on the season and has drawn 10 walks.
- Sophomore Brady Doran (Stony Brook, N.Y.) leads the NE10 with five home runs on the season. He has nine hits on the season, with five of them clearing the fence. He has also swiped four bases, leading the Hawks in that category.
- Senior Will Conaton (Windham, N.H.) is tied for the NE10 lead in strikeouts with 33 while classmate Ryan Schworer (Medfield, Mass.) has punched out 30 batters, ranking third in the conference. Schworer leads the Hawks with a 3.00 earned-run average across four games while Conaton is second with a 4.09 ERA.
- Three Hawks have slugged exactly four home runs on the season, including Maurice, sophomore Mike Borrelli (Salisbury, Mass.) and Dan Baker (Reading, Mass.).

- The Ravens, a perennial power in the East Region, own a flawless 6-0 record when playing at Pappas Field and are 31-9 on their home field in the last four seasons (since 2018). Most recently, Franklin Pierce has made the NCAA postseason in 2019 in 14 seasons since the start of the 2005 campaign.
- Franklin Pierce has five student-athletes with at least 13 runs batted in on the season, with all ranking in the top eight in the NE10 behind Maurice from Saint Anselm. Senior Jonel Ozuna has 16 runs batted in despite logging just seven hits, but five of those have gone for extra bases.
- Randy Flores leads Franklin Pierce with 18 hits in 41 at-bats in the early season, batting .439 in the limited action. He carries a five-game hitting streak into play on Wednesday, notching at least one hit in each of those five games. He has also driven in at least one run in four of his last five contests.
- Four student-athletes have recorded a save for Franklin Pierce in 2021, the only institution within the NE10 to have achieved that feat. Seb Gruszecki has assumed the lion's share of work for the Ravens, throwing a team-leading 17.1 innings and allowing just five earned runs.
- Head Coach Mike Chambers is a 2006 graduate of Franklin Pierce and remains the Ravens' all-time leader in doubles with 70 to his credit. He has racked up 111 wins in just five seasons at the helm of the Franklin Pierce program, winning at least 29 games in his first three seasons.
