DALLAS – Junior Andrew Chenevert of the Saint Anselm College baseball team was selected as the East Region Pitcher of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association on Wednesday after earning the same award from the Northeast 10 Conference on Monday.

Chenever becomes the first Hawk in five seasons to earn a regional honor from the NCBWA, as Kyle Maurice '22 was named the East Region Player of the Week on March 18, 2021.

Chenevert led the way for Saint Anselm last week as he headlined the team's first no-hitter since 2005. In Friday's game against Southern Connecticut State University, he pitched six innings allowing zero hits, runs, and walks while striking out five Owls. The junior is now 5-0 on the season.

Through 30.1 innings pitched over five starts, the Dracut, Mass. native holds the second-best earned run average in the NE10 at 2.67. He is tied for first in the league with five wins, tied for first in walks allowed with six, and is tied for first in runs allowed with nine. Chenevert holds a WHIP of 1.06 through his first five outings.

Chenevert and the Hawks (9-13, 7-7 NE10) will face Pace University (12-12, 7-7 NE10) on the road in an NE10 doubleheader on Saturday, April 4 at Peter Finnerty Field with first pitch in game one slated for noon.
