How it Happened
The first run of the game came across in the top of the first when a wild pitched plated Pace's leadoff hitter from third base. The Setters had a two-run home run sail over the right field fence, building a 3-0 edge in the first. Kaluza led off the bottom half of the inning with a single, stole second, and eventually came in to score on a sacrifice fly to deep left from Powers to make it 3-1.
After the Pace lead expanded to three runs in the second inning, the Hawks responded in the third as Slauson sent a run home with an RBI groundout with the bases loaded.
A solo homer from the Setters' Taison Jemison in the fifth made it 5-2 in favor of the visitors.
Saint Anselm was unable to make a comeback bid in the ninth inning, scoring once on a Bourdeau RBI single, but the Setters held on thanks to a strong five-inning relief appearance by Cristian Rodriguez.
