NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team placed three student-athletes on the Northeast 10 Conference's postseason award teams, as announced by the league on Thursday.
Senior forward
Cam Collins and first-year defenseman
Sean Connolly were named to the All-Conference First Team, while senior forward
Luke Linart earned All-Conference Second Team honors. Connolly also represented the Hawks on the NE10 All-Rookie Team.
The trio has helped Saint Anselm return to the NE10 Championship game for the third time in four years. The Hawks take on the Greyhounds of Assumption University this Saturday, March 7, in the title game.
A semifinalist for the prestigious Joe Concannon Award, Collins has produced at a point-per-game pace for the Hawks this season, recording 33 points in 31 games. He ranks third in the NE10 with 24 assists and fourth in points per game, while his nine multi-point performances place him among the league leaders.
At the faceoff dot, Collins posts a 54.4% win percentage, good for sixth in the conference. In Saint Anselm's three-overtime NE10 Semifinals win over Saint Michael's, he matched his season high with 20 faceoff victories.
Since transferring from Stonehill, Collins has totaled 38 points in 41 games for the Hawks on 12 goals and 26 assists. In an 82-game collegiate career spanning four years, Collins has recorded 15 goals and 37 assists for 52 points.
A three-time NE10 Rookie of the Week selection, Connolly has contributed 23 points on nine goals and 14 assists, ranking 10th in the NE10 in scoring. He ranks second among conference defensemen in points and first among first-year skaters, with four of his nine goals this season coming on the power play.
Connolly has posted six multi-point games, including three separate three-point performances. Earlier this postseason against Southern New Hampshire, he helped fuel a comeback against the Penmen by scoring the game-tying goal with 2:09 remaining and netting the overtime winner in triple overtime.
Linart reached career highs in goals (12), assists (16), and points (28), ranking fifth in the NE10 in goals and seventh in points. He fueled a strong stretch for Saint Anselm near the midpoint of the season, tallying at least one point in eight of nine games (8-8=16) from Jan. 10 through Feb. 2.
He leads the team in goals (12), power-play goals (five), and game-winning goals entering the NE10 Championship game. In his career, Linart has skated in a program-record 125 games, totaling 35 goals and 48 assists for 83 points. He earns NE10 Academic All-Conference Team honors as a junior and is named to the All-Rookie Team as a first-year player in 2023.
