MANCHESTER, N.H. – Saint Anselm College Interim Director of Athletics Phil Rowe announced the hiring of Jarod Minassian as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications earlier this month.
Minassian and Director of Athletic Communications Nick Perenick will oversee the communications efforts for the Hawks' 23 varsity athletics programs. Minassian will assist Perenick in managing the athletics website, producing marketing materials, developing social media content, and use top-of-the-line video production tools to enhance the game day experience and extend the College's reach in the region and the nation.
Minassian comes to the Hilltop after two years at Stonehill College as the Skyhawks transitioned from the Division II level to Division I for all 23 varsity sports. Minassian was the primary media contact for women's volleyball, men's soccer, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's track & field, women's golf, women's tennis, and softball. He also managed the main social media accounts for the Skyhawks and assisted in the redesign of stonehillskyhawks.com when the website moved from PrestoSports to SIDEARM Sports.
Prior to his two-year stint at Stonehill, Minassian held the role of Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at his alma mater, the University of New Hampshire, where he was the media contact for women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country, men's basketball, and men's and women's track and field. He also assisted in the NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey East Regional hosted by the Wildcats at SNHU Arena, holding the role of Communications Coordinator for the weekend-long event.
Before stepping into the communications field full time, Minassian was a sports information graduate assistant at Suffolk University, working alongside Perenick with the Rams' 19 varsity sports programs. At Suffolk, Minassian acted as the secondary contact for all 19 teams and assisted with statistics, broadcast set-up and breakdown, press releases, the Suffolk Sounds Podcast, the Ram Cam video series, and season preview videos.
The Derry, N.H. native earned a Bachelor's of Science in Sport Studies along with a minor in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire in 2021 before completing his Master's Degree in Public Relations & Advertising from Suffolk University in 2022. During his four years at UNH, Minassian completed internships with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Positive Coaching Alliance and UNH Athletic Communications.
While at UNH, Minassian was named Director of Communications for the East Atlantic Gymnastics League in the winter of 2020. As an undergraduate student, he produced the conferences' social media content, weekly newsletters, website, and end-of-year awards for the six Division I member institutions.
Minassian has done volunteer work at the 2024 NCAA Men's Basketball Division I Sweet 16 and Elite 8 rounds at the TD Garden in Boston, Mass. while also being the official scorer for the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Softball Tournament in 2025 hosted by Boston College in Chestnut, Hill, Mass.
Minassian currently resides in his hometown of Derry, N.H.
