NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Saint Anselm College women's soccer head coach
Lee Moyce highlighted 11 award winners for the Hawks, as he was named the Northeast-10 Conference Coach of the Year, the league announced on Wednesday.
Moyce is the first Saint Anselm head coach to receive the award in their debut season and currently sits tied for second all-time in wins by a first-year head coach (10), trailing only 13 victories in 1995.
Under Moyce's leadership, the Hawks posted a 10-2-3 record, including a 7-0-2 mark in NE10 play. Saint Anselm will embark on its fifth straight NE10 playoff run this Thursday after capturing the program's first regular-season title since 1994—and just the second in program history. This year also marks the first time since 1994 that the Hawks finished undefeated in conference play.
The Hawks are currently ranked No. 20 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll, holding a top-25 national ranking for the second consecutive week after debuting at No. 17—their first national ranking since 2023. Moyce guided Saint Anselm to a program-record 11 All-Conference selections.
Leading the way for the Hawks is sophomore
Kaitlyn LeBrun, a returning member of last year's NE10 All-Rookie Team, who earned a spot on the All-Conference First Team. LeBrun anchored a Hawks back line that allowed the fewest shots on goal in the league (49 in 15 games). She also scored in the 2-2 draw at then-No. 20 Wilmington (Del.) on Sept. 12, while starting all 15 contests.
Sophomore
Meghan Deneen, the Hawks' leading scorer, was named to the All-Conference Second Team alongside senior
Nina Muir. Deneen totaled 19 points on seven goals and five assists—all team highs. Her seven goals ranked in the NE10's top 10, while Muir followed closely with 13 points (six goals, one assist). Both recorded two game-winning goals this season, and Deneen earned one NE10 Player of the Week honor.
The All-Conference Third Team included five Hawks: senior defenders
Nina Cuccovia and
Gabrielle Chisholm, sophomore defender
Catherine McCarthy, freshman forward
Madison Botta, and sophomore goalkeeper
Samantha Swidorski.
Cuccovia started nine games before missing the second half of the season due to injury, while fellow captain Chisholm started 13 of 14 appearances and added one assist. McCarthy started all 15 games, also tallying an assist, and Botta provided an offensive spark in her rookie campaign with one goal and a team-leading five assists.
In goal, Swidorski posted the third-lowest goals-against average in the conference (0.959) while recording three shutouts and 32 saves in 15 games, going 10-1-3 overall. She was also named NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week once this season.
Botta's Third Team nod was complemented by an NE10 All-Rookie Team selection, where she was joined by classmates
Addison Jerome and
Connie Patturelli. Jerome ranked third on the team in points (10) and goals (3), while finishing second in assists (4). Patturelli added two game-winning goals and four assists for eight points, fourth-most on the roster.
With a win in Thursday's NE10 Semifinals, the Hawks would advance to the NE10 Championship Game — their first title opportunity since winning it all in 1991. A victory would secure the program's third championship in history.
