SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The nationally-ranked Saint Anselm College field hockey team earned the Northeast 10 Conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Championship following a 3-2 victory over Bentley University in Sunday's conference title match. The Hawks were selected as the No. 6 seed in the tournament and will travel to face the No. 3 seed, Shippensburg University, at noon on Saturday, Nov. 15 at the Robb Sports Complex.
The Hawks are making their eighth NCAA postseason appearance, their fourth consecutive appearance, following their third NE10 Championship in program history. In 2024, Saint Anselm was selected as an at-large selection and made a run to bring home the College's first-ever National Championship.
Ranked No. 9 in the nation by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA), the Hawks will be facing off against Shippensburg for the second time this season in Saturday's First Round clash. Back on Sep. 14, Saint Anselm was defeated by the Raiders, 4-0, in a neutral site game played art Widener University's Edith R. Dixon Field.
Saint Anselm is one of three NE10 programs to qualify for the national tournament, as both Bentley and Assumption University earned at-large nods. The Falcons will be the eighth seed, taking on top-seeded Newbury University, while the Greyhounds are seeded seventh and will take on No. 2-seeded Kutztown University.
The winner of Saturday's game will move on to the NCAA semifinal round on Friday, Nov. 21 at Steph Pettit Stadium in Bloomsburg, Pa.
