Czukoski Named NEWHA Rookie of the Week for Third Straight Week

WINTHROP, Mass. – For the third straight week, Saint Anselm College freshman goalkeeper Kayla Czukoski was named the Rookie of the Week for the New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA), the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.

In starts against Maine and Stonehill, the Exton, Pa. native posted a .957 save percentage and 2.00 goals allowed average in a 1-1 (1-0 NEWHA) week for the Hawks. She made 51 saves in 3-0 loss at Maine on Friday afternoon before posting 38 saves on 39 shots faced in Saturday's 3-1 win over Stonehill.

The Hawks improved to 3-0-0 against conference competition following the win over the Skyhawks.

Saint Anselm will press pause on its conference slate as Czukoski and the Hawks head to Schenectady, N.Y. for the Ice Breaker Tournament, hosted by Union College, on Oct. 17 and 18. The Hawks will play the host Garnet Chargers on Friday at 3:37 p.m. and will face off against either Vermont or No. 1 Wisconsin in either the consolation or championship game on Saturday afternoon.
