CONCORD, N.H. — The Saint Anselm College men's golf team concluded the three-round Granite State Opener on Tuesday afternoon, finishing in 10th place as a team out of 14 competing institutions. Freshman
Brandon Vitarisi (Reading, Mass.) recorded the best individual score for the Hawks, turning in a +6 which was good for a tie in 23rd place out of 75 golfers.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After shooting a +1 in round one and a +4 in round two, Vitarisi finished his tournament with a +1 in round three. The freshman posted the best individual score for the Hawks in just his second collegiate event.
- One stroke behind Vitarisi was freshman Riley Reardon (Woburn, Mass.), who wrapped up the event with a three-round score of +7. Reardon shot an even par 72 in the third round and finished in a tie for 26th place.
- Senior Michael Papamechail (Danvers, Mass.) finished in a tie for 32nd place with a +10. The senior, who posted a +3 through two rounds, carded a +7 in the third round on Tuesday.
- Sophomore Brady Warren (Lynn, Mass.) tied for 46th position with a +14. After struggling with a +13 in the first round, Warren stepped up his game over the final two rounds, posting a -1 in the second and +2 in the third.
- Freshman Jack Murray (Reading, Mass.) shot a +10 for the third round and finished with a +24 for the event, which tied him in 65th place.

- Saint Anselm competes in the Penmen Invitational next week on Monday, September 23rd and Tuesday, September 24th at Montcalm Golf Course in Enfield, N.H.
