Forti Tied for Third, Hawks 10th After First Round of NCAA DII Men's Golf Atlantic/East Regional

WHEELING, W. Va.– Senior Robbie Forti (Danvers, Mass.) fired an opening round of 71 even to lead the Saint Anselm College men's golf on day one of the 2024 NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Men's Golf Regional at the Speidel Jones Golf Club. As a team, the Hawks sit tied for 10th in the 20-team field, carding a 22-over 306 in a round disrupted by heavy afternoon rains.

  • Saint Anselm will tee off for the second round of the 2024 NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional on Friday, May 10 at 9:30 a.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Forti led the Hawks shooting an even 71 to tie for sixth overall out of over 100 golfers competing in the regional tournament. 
  • Finishing tied for 33rd place was fifth-year Lucas Dascoli (Everett, Mass.) carding a five-over 76 on day one. 
  • Junior Michael Papamechail (Danvers, Mass.)  turned in an opening round eight-over 79 for Saint Anselm to tie for 67th on the leaderboard. 
  • Sophomore Anthony Picano (Reading, Mass.) completed the first round by shooting a nine-over 80 to finish tied for 79th place.
  • Rounding out the first round for the Hawks was freshman Brady Warren (Lynn, Mass.) shooting a 20-over 91 on the day.
