Men's Golf Concludes Fall Season with Ninth Place Finish at Post Eagles Invitational

WATERTOWN, Conn. — The Saint Anselm College men's golf team concluded their fall season on Tuesday after wrapping up the third round of the Post Eagles Invitational in ninth place out of 12 teams.
 

INDIVIDUAL RESULTS:
  • Freshman Brandon Vitarisi (Reading, Mass.) led the Hawks with a three-round score of +22, good for a tie in 28th place individually in a field of 69 golfers.
  • Finishing a few strokes back of Vitarisi was senior Michael Papamechail (Danvers, Mass.), who ended in a tie for 33rd place with a +25 score. Papamechail shot well in Tuesday's final round, carding a one-over par.
  • Freshman Nick Nowak (Amherst, N.H.) fired his best round of the tournament on Tuesday with a +8 score over the final 18 holes. He ended the event in a tie for 43rd place with a total score of +29.
  • Also saving his best round for last was freshman Nicholas Emery (Pawtucket, R.I.), who posted a +10 in the final round and finished in 56th place with a total score of +38.
  • Freshman Tyler Feldberg (Middleton, Mass.) rounded out the field for the Hawks with a +43 score through 54 holes, good for a tie in 62nd place.

TEAM RESULTS:
  • Saint Anselm finished the tournament in ninth place out of 12 teams with a team score of +110. As a team, the Hawks shot +28 in round one, +53 in round two, and +29 in round three.
  • The squad beat out 10th-place New Haven by one stroke and also finished ahead of American International (+131) and Franklin Pierce (+159).
  • The Hawks wrapped up play 23 strokes back of Bentley for eighth place and 27 strokes behind Adelphi for seventh.
  • St. Thomas Aquinas won the event with a three-round team score of +38. The Spartans turned in a +7 score over the final 18 holes on Tuesday which was the best score of the round by any team.
