Hogan, Seniors Run Hard for Men's Cross Country at 41st Annual Shacklette Invitational

MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Saint Anselm College men's cross country team hosted Saint Michael's College and Southern New Hampshire University at the 41st Annual Shacklette Invitational, an 8k race featuring 35 runners on Saturday morning.

Senior co-captain Chris Hogan (Plymouth, Mass.) finished the race with a team-best time of 29:14.1, which ranked seventh overall. Joining Hogan in the top 10 was classmate Adam Wong (Westminster, Mass.), who checked in with a time of 29:33.7.

Finishing in third for the Hawks and 11th overall was senior Tyler Scopelites (Litchfield, N.H.), who closely followed his classmates with a time of 29:41.9.

Saint Anselm had six more runners finish in the top 20, led by graduate student and co-captain Alex Horan (Clifton, Va.) who finished in just under a half hour.

Freshmen Adam Holodowski (Milford, N.H.) and Clifford Teixeira (Nashua, N.H.), junior Steven Cormier (Reading, Mass.), senior Trevor Scopelites (Litchfield, N.H.), and sophomore Andrew Keene (Kennebunk, Maine) all finished the race in under 31 minutes.

Holodowski, Teixeira, and classmate Diego Infante (Marlborough, Mass.) all made their collegiate debuts.

Saint Anselm, who was ranked tenth in the East Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), had 18 runners in the field and finished third overall. The Hawks also had a total of nine runners place in the top 20, the most out of any team.
