Men's Golf Sits in Third Place on Day One of the NE10 Championship

LONGMEADOW, Mass. – The Saint Anselm College men's golf team is in third place after opening day one of the Northeast-10 Conference (NE10) Championship on Monday at the Twin Hills Country Club. 

UP NEXT
  • The Hawks will conclude the final day of the championship tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct 17th, for the second round. 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Sophomore Anthony Picano (Reading, Mass.) is the Hawks team leader after carding two-over 73 in the first round to tie for third place. He posted three birdies and two bogeys on the day. 
  • Fifth-year Lucas Dascoli (Everett, Mass.) also recorded three birdies in the first round of the championship to secure a tie for eighth place. 
  • Close behind him was junior Michael Papamechail (Danvers, Mass.) tied for 12th firing a three-over 74 on day one of the competition. 
  • Tied for 23rd place was fifth-year Drew Semons (Danvers, Mass.) and senior Robbie Forti (Danvers, Mass.) combining for five birdies to end the first round of the championship.
