MANSFIELD, Mass. – Juniors Andrew Andary (Macomb, Mich.) and Nick Howard (Burlington, Mass.) of the Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team were named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year and Goaltender of the Year, respectively, on Wednesday.

The duo was named to the All-Conference First Team as well while junior Jack Murphy (Marshfield, Mass.) slotted into one of the defenseman spots on the Second Team and sophomore Tommy Schwartz (Ridgefield, Conn.) was named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team.

Andary becomes the first Saint Anselm winner of the Player of the Year award since the 2012-13 season while Howard collects the accolade for the Hawks for the first time since the 2017-18 season. This is the third time in program history that Saint Anselm has collected both the Player of the Year and the Goaltender of the Year in the same season with the first time coming in 2001-02 and most recently in 2009-10.

Andary becomes the fourth Hawks student-athlete to be named the conference's Player of the Year. The team's alternate captain led the NE10 in points (36) while ranking second in goals (17) and assists (19). The junior, who is a Joe Concannon Award semifinalist, set career-highs in all three categories this season. Andary is the first Saint Anselm student-athlete to eclipse 30 points in a single season since the 2012-13 season when Mike Richard '13 posted 32 points on his way to being named the conference's Player of the Year that season as well. No Saint Anselm student-athlete has hit at least 36 points in a season since Coleman Noonan '11 registered 47 in the 2009-10 season.

The junior recorded at least one point in 19 of the Hawks' 27 games this season and went for nine multi-point performances. Andary recorded his first collegiate hat trick against Post University on Jan. 14 where he added an assist for a career-high four points. He followed that up with a two goal, two assist game for eight points in the weekend series. Andary recorded three assists in the Jan. 28 win over Saint Michael's, which is also a career high, on his way to seven points (2-5=7) in the weekend sweep. Andary was plus-12 on the season, putting 95 shots on goal. He was one of four Saint Anselm student-athletes to skate in all 27 games this season. The junior was a two-time NE10 Player of the Week this season.

Howard led the conference following the First Round of the NE10 playoffs with 686 saves on the season, which is good for the fourth-most in a Saint Anselm single season. The junior led the conference with a 2.71 goals-against average and was fifth in save percentage at .905. The junior netminder started 26 games, logging over 1,500 minutes in the goal for Saint Anselm on his way to a 13-11-2 mark this season. Howard becomes the ninth Saint Anselm student-athlete to achieve Goaltender of the Year honors.

Howard aided the Hawks to a 4-0-1 start this season, which was the best start for the program since the 2007-08 team was also unbeaten in its first five games (2-0-3). During the stretch, Howard stopped 120 of 128 shots on goal, good for a .938 save percentage and a 1.57 goals-against average. He set a career-high of 40 saves in the team's loss to NCAA Division I Long Island University on Nov. 23. Following the conclusion of the non-conference slate on Jan. 22, Howard aided the Hawks to a 7-2-1 record to close the regular season which propelled them to the second seed entering the conference playoffs. The junior was named the NE10 Goaltender of the Week accolade four times this season, including in each of the first two weeks of the season.

Murphy led the Hawks defensive group with four goals and seven assists for 11 points. The junior skated in a career-high 25 games this season on his way to set career marks in the three offensive categories listed above. Murphy netted his first multi-point effort in a tie with Stonehill College on Nov. 12, scoring his first goal of the season and assisting on one other. The junior scored twice on the power play this season while being credited with one game-winning goal. Murphy blocked 19 shots on the season, part of a defensive group that posted 108 of the team's 212 blocks this season.

Schwartz ranked second on the Hawks with 10 goals and 15 assists for 25 points. The sophomore is tied for eighth in the NE10 in points and is tied for 12th in goals and sixth in assists. Schwartz leads the NE10 in scoring when compared to all rookie-eligible student-athletes. He skated in all but one game this season, recording at least one point in 16 contests. Schwartz is tied for the team-lead with a plus-13 on-ice rating and put 78 shots on target this season.

The sophomore opened the season with a goal in four of the first five games, including one in each of the team's first three games. Schwartz netted a team-high three power play goals. He posted five points in a weekend twice this season including a three-assist performance against Post on Jan. 14, following that up with a one goal, one assist game the next day. On Jan. 28 and Jan. 29, the sophomore scored one goal and two assists against Saint Michael's on his way to a five-point weekend (2-3=5). Schwartz was named the Rookie of the Week twice this season.

Andary and Howard repeat on the NE10 yearly awards as both were named to the All-Rookie Team during the 2019-20 season.
