DETROIT – Keith Beauregard '05, a member of the Saint Anselm College baseball team during his academic career on the Hilltop, was one of three hitting coaches named to the Detroit Tigers major league coaching staff earlier this month.
Beauregard earns the call-up to Major League Baseball after spending the last four seasons in the farm system for the Los Angeles Dodgers, most recently as an Assistant Field Coordinator for the franchise. He started out with the Dodgers as a Minor League hitting instructor before his promotion.
At the NCAA level, he began his career as an Assistant Coach at UMass Lowell under former Hawks bench boss Ken Harring and would later serve a lengthy stint as an Assistant Coach at NCAA Division I Santa Clara University prior to joining the Dodgers.
Helping Saint Anselm to the 2003 ECAC Division II Championship, Beauregard was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament and ended his career as a four-time All-League selection by the Northeast-10 Conference. Additionally, he was a two-time ABCA All-New England pick.
After graduating from Saint Anselm with a degree in Criminal Justice in 2005, Beauregard played professionally for the Worcester Tornadoes in the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball, the same league where present-day Saint Anselm Head Coach Jerod Edmondson '06 also competed.
Beauregard completed his bachelor's degree from Saint Anselm in Criminal Justice in 2005. Upon his graduation, he was the program's all-time leader in games played (181), at bats (694), hits (223), doubles (46), triples (15), hit by pitches (31) and stolen bases (40).
