NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Saint Anselm College men's soccer team was edged by Southern Connecticut State University, 1-0, in Northeast 10 Conference action on Saturday at Jess Dow Field.
The Owls scored the lone goal of the contest in the fifth minute as the Hawks moved to 4-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

How it Happened
Southern Connecticut State scored the lone goal of the contest in the fifth minute when Gisli Agustsson found the back of the net off an assist from Jeremy Martin to give the Owls a 1-0 lead.
Husanovic put the Hawks' first shot on goal in the 17th minute, forcing a save from Southern Connecticut State goalkeeper Diego Flores.
Prouty registered two shots on goal later in the first half, with attempts in the 24th and 27th minutes.
Hood made three saves in the opening half to keep the Hawks within one entering halftime.
Senior
Connor Lovely put a threatening attempt on goal in the 57th minute, taking a powerful shot from atop the box that was turned aside by Flores.
Sophomore
Zachary Mantegari recorded the Hawks' final shot on goal in the 76th minute, sending an attempt toward Flores.
Hood made four saves in the second half as Saint Anselm held the Owls scoreless over the final 85 minutes.

Saint Anselm (4-4) travels to Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. on Tuesday, Sept. 29 for a non-conference matchup against Mercy University (6-2-2). Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at Mercy Field.
