Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Compete at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

DARTMOUTH, MASS. – The Saint Anselm College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday at the Robert Dowd Cross Country Course.
 
The men's squad placed 19th with 585 points in the 8K race, while the women's team finished eighth with 222 points in the 6K race. Junior Michael Katsikis led the Hawks on the men's side, placing 86th overall in 26:33.35, while sophomore Jill Olson led the women with a 28th-place finish in 24:35.56.
 
MEN'S RESULTS
  • Katsikis led the Hawks with an 86th-place finish, crossing the finish line in 26:33.35. Freshman Jacob Silva followed in 123rd at 27:15.60.
  • Freshman Matthew Motherway placed 128th in 27:20.08, while sophomore Billy Oldham finished 139th in 27:39.14.
  • Freshman Liam Sweeney rounded out the Hawks' scoring in 158th place, recording a time of 28:05.27.
  • Junior Luke Manzi placed 175th at 28:32.33, followed by sophomore Nolan Finn in 176th at 28:35.00.
  • Senior Diego Infante finished 178th with a time of 28:38.11, while senior Clifford Teixeira placed 107th in the men's navy race at 29:35.34 and sophomore Quinn Johnson finished 118th at 30:04.02.
WOMEN'S RESULTS
  • Olson led the Hawks with a 28th-place finish, crossing the finish line in 24:35.56. Senior Shannon Bresnahan followed in 42nd at 25:01.24.
  • Junior Finleigh Simonds placed 56th with a time of 25:15.91, while sophomore Ava Martin finished 68th at 25:36.19.
  • Sophomore Sayde White rounded out the Hawks' scoring five in 72nd place, recording a time of 25:48.24.
  • Sophomore Eva Tynan finished 84th at 26:09.37, followed by freshman Chloe Grissom in 88th at 26:19.13 and junior Erin Flaherty in 90th at 26:21.78.
  • Sophomore Julia Parsons placed 95th in 26:39.09, while junior Ava Egan finished 97th at 26:44.71 and senior Kylin Frenkiewich crossed the finish line in 105th at 27:14.08.

The Saint Anselm cross country teams return to action on Saturday, October 3, at the Keene State Invitational in Keene, N.H. The meet will be hosted by Keene State College at the Owl Athletic Complex.
