NEWARK, Del. – The Saint Anselm College women's volleyball team swept a pair of matches Saturday at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Wilmington University, defeating Queens College, 3-0, before taking down Holy Family University, 3-0. With the two victories, the Hawks improve to 7-3 on the season.
Saint Anselm 3, Queens (N.Y.) 0 (25-18, 25-14, 26-24)

How it Happened
SET 1 | Saint Anselm jumped out to a 5-1 lead and used a 7-0 run to extend its advantage to 16-5, with Elward recording two kills and two service aces during the stretch. Queens later trimmed the deficit to 22-17, but the Hawks held off the late rally and closed the opening frame, 25-18.
SET 2 | The Hawks opened the second set with four straight points and quickly built an 11-4 advantage behind kills from sophomore
Etta Rocco, Campo and Lacerda and a service ace from Gomez. Saint Anselm continued to pull away, reaching 16-6 as the Hawks finished the set with back-to-back points to take a 25-14 win and a 2-0 match lead.
SET 3 | Queens opened the deciding frame with a 1-0 lead, but Saint Anselm answered with six of the next eight points to pull ahead 6-3 and later built an 18-14 advantage. The Royals rallied with six straight points to tie the set at 22-22, but the Hawks responded with consecutive points to reach 24-22 before Queens tied it again at 24-24. Saint Anselm then scored the final two points, including a Pila and Rocco block and a Queens attack error, to win 26-24 and complete the sweep.
Saint Anselm 3, Holy Family 0 (25-12, 25-14, 27-25)

- Saint Anselm is now 3-3 all-time against Holy Family, as the Hawks have won three of the past four matchups.

SET 1 | Holy Family took an early 3-2 lead before Saint Anselm answered with a 5-0 run to move ahead 8-6, and the Hawks later scored 11 consecutive points to take a 19-7 advantage. Elward recorded four service aces during the run, while Pila added two kills, and Saint Anselm closed the set, 25-12.
SET 2 | The Hawks and Tigers exchanged points early before Saint Anselm turned a 3-3 tie into a 6-3 lead with three consecutive points. Saint Anselm then scored four straight points to extend its advantage from 6-3 to 13-6 and later built a 20-10 cushion before closing the frame with five of the final nine points for a 25-14 victory
SET 3 | Holy Family raced to a 4-0 lead and later held a 10-3 advantage before the Hawks began their comeback. Saint Anselm used a 6-0 run to pull within 15-13 and eventually tied the set at 23-23, with the teams trading points through 25-25. Sophomore
Addison Shelton then delivered a kill for a 26-25 lead before a kill from Campo gave the Hawks a 27-25 win and the 3-0 sweep.
