MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's volleyball team earned its third consecutive victory on Tuesday evening, rallying from an opening-set loss to defeat Assumption University, 3-1, in non-conference action at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium. With the victory, the Hawks improve to 8-3 on the season as the team combined for a season-high nine total blocks on 18 block assists.

Highlights
- Saint Anselm improves to 40-21 against Assumption, winning three consecutive matchups, 17 of the last 18, and 10 straight at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.
- Sophomore Peyton Elward led the Hawks with a match-high 14.5 points, recording six kills, while she set a new career-high with seven block assists. Elward also matched her career-high of five service aces.
- Freshman Riley Campo totaled seven kills, five digs, four block assists, and two service aces for 11.0 points.
- Senior Sam Pila added eight kills, 11 digs, and 11.0 points, while sophomore Etta Rocco posted eight kills on a .429 hitting percentage.
- Sophomore Mckenna O'Connell directed the Saint Anselm offense with 35 assists while adding three kills, eight digs, and five points on three kills, two block assists, and an ace.
- Sophomore Addison Shelton made the most of her action, recording eight kills on a .400 hitting percentage and 8.5 points.
- Senior Madeline Burke led the Hawks on defense with 13 digs to go with two assists and two aces.
How it Happened
SET 1 | The opening frame featured 14 ties and eight lead changes, with Saint Anselm holding a 23-21 advantage late in the set. Assumption scored three straight to reach set point, but the Hawks answered to tie the score at 24-24 before the Greyhounds claimed the final two points for a 26-24 victory.
SET 2 | Assumption opened the second set with a 7-3 lead before Saint Anselm battled back to tie the score at 12-12. The teams remained tied at 18-18 before the Hawks scored seven of the final 10 points, including the set-clinching point off an ace from Pila to even the match at one set apiece with a 25-21 win.
SET 3 | The Greyhounds jumped ahead 6-1, but the Hawks responded with a 6-0 run, fueled by three consecutive blocks, to take their first lead of the set at 7-6. After the teams battled to a 16-16 tie, Saint Anselm used a 5-0 run, highlighted by back-to-back Elward aces, before closing the frame on a 9-4 run for the 25-20 victory.
SET 4 | Saint Anselm raced out to a 10-4 advantage before Assumption battled back to take a 14-12 lead. The Hawks answered with a 7-1 run to regain control, and consecutive Campo aces pushed the lead to 22-16 before Rocco's kill secured the 25-18 victory and the 3-1 match win.
