NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Championship Saturday turned into a statement day for the Saint Anselm College women's track & field team, fueled by event victories in the 400-meter hurdles and 4x400-meter relay, a runner-up showing in the 100-meter hurdles, and multiple podium finishes across the board as the Hawks secured a second-place finish with 139.5 points at the Northeast 10 Conference Outdoor Championships at Jess Dow Field.
Behind two individual titles from sophomore
Logan Montgomery, a championship performance in the 4x100 relay, and a runner-up finish in the decathlon from sophomore
Peter Hogan, the men's track & field team finished day two with a third-place finish with 127 points.
Southern Connecticut State claimed the women's team title with 269 points, followed by Saint Anselm (139.5), Adelphi (107), Southern New Hampshire (102), Franklin Pierce (92), Assumption (69.5), AIC (41), Bentley (30), and Saint Michael's (2). On the men's side, Southern Connecticut State secured the team title with 291 points, followed by Franklin Pierce (129), Saint Anselm (127), Assumption (119), Adelphi (86), AIC (48), Bentley (46), and Saint Michael's (4).
WOMEN'S TRACK
- In the 100, sophomore Reese Nicolosi placed second in 14.54, while sophomore Petrina Ofori finished fifth in 14.85.
- The 200 saw senior Rebecca Cady lead the group in 25.66 for 10th, followed by freshman Sophia Guzman in 25.93 and junior Meredith Pasquarosa in 26.00.
- Sophomore Sam Ducharme placed fourth in the 400 in 59.14, with freshman Brenna Woodbury crossing in fifth in 1:01.06.
- Junior Finleigh Simonds ran 2:19.75 in the 800 to finish fifth.
- Nicolosi placed second in the 100 hurdles in 14.54, with Ofori fifth in 14.85. Nicolosi came back to win the 400 hurdles in 1:01.04, while Ofori again placed fifth.
- The 4x100 relay team of Samantha DiFonte, Reese Nicolosi, Sophia Guzman, and Meredith Pasquarosa placed third in 48.36.
- Sam Ducharme, Brenna Woodbury, Meredith Pasquarosa, and Reese Nicolosi ran to a 3:55.12 first-place finish in the 4x400 relay.
- In the 5000, senior Cara Morris finished 11th in 19:39.91, followed by junior Abby Bemis in 20:03.13, junior Abigail Bernabei in 20:15.86, freshman Evangeline Tynan in 20:33.56, and freshman Sayde White in 20:46.60.
- Junior Gracie Flynn placed fourth in the steeplechase in 12:23.12, with freshman Tricia Gibbons sixth in 12:49.30.
WOMEN'S FIELD
- Freshman Mackenzie Hibbert led the jumps with a third-place triple jump of 11.10 meters. Junior Sara Harris followed in sixth at 10.88 meters, with junior captain Ava Houle ninth at 10.38 meters.
- In the high jump, Makayla Kokonezis finished second after clearing 1.55 meters. Ofori, freshman Greta Hartung, and freshman Emily Fauteux tied for eighth at 1.45 meters, while sophomore Tija Dilba and sophomore Bella Balducci tied for 12th at 1.40 meters.
- In the throws, senior Brianne Rett placed third in the shot put with a mark of 11.93 meters and added a fifth-place finish in the discus at 37.12 meters. Junior Sophia Morin finished sixth in the shot put at 11.36 meters.
MEN'S TRACK
- The day opened with sophomore Joseph D'Angelo crossing in 10.91 for sixth in the 100, with senior Jaidin Haynes close behind in 10.93.
- Montgomery set the tone in the 200, breaking away for a win in 21.00. D'Angelo added a fourth-place effort at 21.43, and junior Samuel Jones contributed an eighth-place finish in 22.08.
- He carried that momentum into the 400, stopping the clock at 46.81 to secure another victory. Ray Kwiatek added a sixth-place run in 48.58, with Jones again scoring in eighth at 49.62.
- Sophomore Leo Sheriff sparked the hurdle group with a runner-up showing in 14.67 in the 110 hurdles. Junior Stephen Quinn followed in fifth (15.59).
- Freshman Gavin Lombara broke into the podium in the 400 hurdles with a third-place run in 54.02. Quinn added depth in eighth at 57.96.
- The 4x100 relay of Jaidin Haynes, Logan Montgomery, Joseph D'Angelo, and Gavin Lombara delivered the program's lone relay title in 40.91.
- In the 4x400, the combination of Daniel Leet, Hunter Beaudoin, Ray Kwiatek, and Logan Montgomery closed the track portion with a second-place finish in 3:19.84.
- Distance action included a 15:33.76 effort from Christian Wetzel and a 16:48.62 mark from Andrew Keene in the 5000.
MEN'S FIELD
- Sophomore Parker Gleckman highlighted the field group with a fourth-place triple jump at 13.78 meters (five points). Freshman Trevor Hunter placed 13th at 12.45 meters.
- In the shot put, freshman Aidan Ryan led the way in ninth at 13.88 meters, followed by freshman Eric Morrison in 13th at 13.07 meters and sophomore Colin Burns in 17th at 11.34 meters.
- Ryan added another scoring performance in the discus, placing eighth with a throw of 41.18 meters (one point). Morrison finished 13th at 37.48 meters, junior Logan Guttadauro was 14th at 37.24 meters, and sophomore Jared Ferschke placed 16th at 35.72 meters.
MEN'S MULTI
- Sophomore Peter Hogan finished second overall in the decathlon, delivering a consistent two-day performance across all ten events.
- He opened with 11.30 in the 100, 6.60 meters in the long jump, 12.40 meters in the shot put, 1.82 meters in the high jump, and 53.54 in the 400.
- Day two featured 16.93 in the 110 hurdles, 36.64 meters in the discus, 3.25 meters in the pole vault, 47.98 meters in the javelin, and 5:42.88 in the 1500.
