MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior
Rose Reitmeyer of the Saint Anselm College softball team was voted the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) East Region Player of the Year, as voted on by the region's sports information directors, the organization announced on Monday.
Reitmeyer, who was named Northeast 10 Conference Player of the Year and an NFCA All-East Region First Team selection, earns another distinction, becoming the second Hawk in program history to be named D2CCA East Region Player of the Year. The East region includes teams from the Northeast 10, East Coast Conference (ECC), and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC).
Reitmeyer earns the region's top honor, becoming the first Hawk since 2021, and also becomes the seventh player in program history to earn D2CCA First Team All-East Region honors as an outfielder. The NE10 held 13 of the 28 spots on the two All-East Region squads, led by Franklin Pierce University and Southern New Hampshire University with four selections each.
The outfielder from Oxford, Conn., was dominant in the Hawks' lineup this season, batting .365 with 62 hits, 48 runs scored, and a program-record 16 home runs. Her 16 home runs ranked first in the NE10, while she also finished second in runs batted in (54), first in slugging percentage (.782), and first in OPS (on-base plus slugging) (1.221).
Reitmeyer also surpassed the Hawks' all-time home run record of 24 set by
Nicole Boucher from 2011-14, and her six RBI performance against American Int'l on Sunday, May 2, is tied for the third-most in a single game in program history. Reitmeyer finished out her career on the Hilltop with 27 career home runs, while her 16 home runs are also tied for the fifth-most home runs in a single season in NE10 history.
She became the first in program history to record a three-home run game on March 17 against Wayne State (Mich.) and is the Hawks' all-time RBI leader with 115, while also ranking top-10 all-time in career slugging percentage (.624), walks (58), and on-base percentage (.403).
