Morin, Lombara, and Cady Set Program Records at SNHU Spring Open

HOOKSETT, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's and women's track & field teams opened their outdoor seasons at SNHU Spring Open, hitting a provisional mark, setting three program records, and earning three first-place finishes on Thursday at Mark A. Ouellette Stadium. 

Men's Field

  • Sophomore Parker Gleckman secured a third-place finish in the men's long jump as he reached 6.30m in the sand. He then competed in the triple jump where he earned fourth-place at 12.54m. 

  • Freshman Trevor Hunter followed Gleckman in the final standings in the triple jump, coming in fifth-place reaching 12.48m. 

  • Freshman Andrew Henaghen represented the Hawks in the men's javelin earning first-place in the qualifying round, and second-place in the finals. 

  • Senior Dylan Paradis earns second-place in shot put, throwing 11.98m. 

  • Sophomore Jared Ferschke will take silver qualifying round of the hammer throw, tossing 43.38m and setting a new personal best.  

  • A pair of Hawks, junior Logan Guttadauro and sophomore Colin Burns took third and fourth-place finishes in the hammer throw as they both set PRs at 46.68m and 46.66m. 

  • Guttadauro continued setting the tone for the outdoor season as he set his second PR of the day in the discus, tossing 35.54m. 

  • Sophomore Peter Hogan will take second-place in the men's high jump, reaching 1.85m. 

Men's Track

  • Hunter set a new PR in the 100-meter, finishing at 11.29. 

  • Freshman Billy Oldham took second-place in the 5000m run timing in at 16:32.01, and in doing so setting a new PR. 

  • Freshman Gavin Lombara takes home the gold in the 110m hurdles at 14.90 and setting a PR in the event. He also led the Hawks to the finish line in the 100m dash, setting a new program record of 10.64 which is also a PR, and earning his second first-place finish of the day. 

  • Following Lombara was sophomore Joseph D'Angelo, who timed in at 10.97, placing third. 

  • Freshman Ray Kwiatek earned gold for the Hawks in the 200m, crossing the finish line at 21.98. Junior Samuel Jones also showed up in the 200m, placing third and timing a 22.12 race. 

Women's Field

  • Freshman Mackenzie Hibbert had a strong start to her first collegiate spring outdoor meet as she placed second in both the triple and long jump. The rookie reached 5.09m in the long jump and set a new personal record in the triple jump at 10.87. 

  • Junior Ava Houle closely followed Hibbert in the long jump, reaching 5.08m and securing a third-place finish. 

  • Freshman Samantha DiFonte was the third Hawk to earn a top-five finish in the long jump, reaching 4.89m.  

  • Freshman Emily Seals competed in her first outdoor long jump, reaching 4.55m to set a new PR. 

  • Freshman Marissa Abbis set two new PRs in the hammer and javelin throws, tossing 35.34m and 29.85m while earning a top-five finish in the hammer. 

  • Sophomore Nevaeh Perkins competed in discus and javelin, tossing 24.76m and 20.62m while setting new personal bests in both events. 

  • Junior Sophia Morin etched her name into the Saint Anselm record book as she set a new program record while hitting the provisional mark in the javelin. She earned a first-place finish with a toss of 42.25m, all while setting the tone for the outdoor season with a new PR.  

  • Following Morin was junior Harmony Marquez with a third-place finish in the javelin, tossing 38.73m. 

  • Senior Brianne Rett takes the silver in the women's discus, setting a new PR and throwing 36.56m. She earned her second top-five finish of the day in the hammer throw, tossing 41.19m to finish fourth. 

  • Junior Meghan Bresch sets a personal best as she enters the outdoor season with a throw of 21.77m in discus.  

  • Freshman Greta Hartung tied for second-place in the high jump, reaching 1.46m. 

Women's Track

  • Senior Rebecca Cady sets a new school record in the 100m, timing in at 12.19 and taking bronze. Continuing her momentum into the 200m, the senior took second-place clocking in at 25.11. 

  • After her performance in the long jump, Difonte also competed in the 100-meter for the first time in her career, crossing the finish line at 13.00. 

  • Seals earned her second PR of the day, this time in the 100-meter with a 13.33 finish. 

  • Junior Kylie Frank crossed the finish line at 28.57 in the 200-meter, setting a new PR. 

  • Junior Finleigh Simonds and freshman Jill Olson were neck-and-neck in the 1500m run, coming in second and third, with Simonds crossing the finish at 4:53.33 and Olson at 4:58.62. 

  • In the 100m hurdles, junior Meredith Pasquarosa set a new personal record of 16.00 and placed fourth. 

  • Freshman Brenna Woodbury earns the gold in the 400m, setting a PR at 1:01.14. 

  • Sophomore Sam Ducharme will take gold in the 800m, clocking a 2:22.46 race. 

  • Junior Cara Morris represented the Hawks in the 5000m, earning third and crossing the finish line at 19:28.21. 

Up Next

The Hawks return to action next Thursday, April 2 at the Merrimack Alumni Carnival, hosted by Merrimack College at Duane Stadium.
