WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior
Tatum Forbes scored a career-high 30 points, but the Saint Anselm College women's basketball team fell on the road at No. 22 Bentley University, 64-54, at the Dana Center in a Northeast 10 Conference matchup on Wednesday.
Highlights
- This marked the 103rd all-time meeting between these two programs as Saint Anselm falls to 16-87 overall against Bentley in the series that began in 1978.
- The Hawks fall to 9-8 on the year with a 4-8 mark in NE10 play.
- Forbes shot 13-23 from the field and knocked down her lone three-point attempt of the night, as she scored 30 points for the first time in her career. This was the first 30-point game by a Hawk since last year's NE10 Player of the Year, Melanie Hoyt '25, scored 31 against American Int'l on Nov. 13, 2024.
- Forbes also had six rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 39 minutes.
- Junior Meghan Trapper scored six points and knocked down two three-pointers while classmate Kaitlin McDonough led the Hawks with seven boards.
How it Happened
The Hawks started slowly, falling behind 17-4 in the first quarter, heading into the second quarter trailing by 11 points, 19-8. Saint Anselm made four of its first five shots, including a pair of threes from Trapper to start the second as the Hawks pulled within six, 25-19.
The Falcons went back up by 10, 35-25, but Forbes kept the Hawks in the game with 14 first-half points as Saint Anselm trailed 39-30 at the half. Forbes stayed hot in the early stages of the third, making her first three shots of the second half, sparking an 8-0 run that had the Hawks within one, 39-38.
Bentley held off the Hawks, taking a 50-45 advantage into the final quarter of action. The Falcons led by at least two possessions for the remainder of the game, securing a 64-54 win.
