Women’s Track Finishes Second in NE10 Championship

BOSTON – The Saint Anselm College women's track & field team put in a team effort from start to finish to earn the runner-up title in the Northeast 10 Conference for the first time in program history.

Southern Connecticut State University took first-place, earning 247 points as a team with the Hawks following behind them, taking home silver with 101.50 points overall, becoming the first team in program history to post a second-place finish.

Women's Track

  • Sophomore Reese Nicolosi secured a new PR on Friday in the 60-meter hurdles, running 9.05.

  • Junior Rebecca Cady earned a spot on the podium, finishing third in the 60-meter dash recording 7.83. Cady also gave a strong performance in the 400-meter dash, clocking a 58.17 race and finishing in fourth place.

  • In the mile run, freshman Ava Martin and junior Grace Perley earn new career-bests, crossing the finish line at 5:36.28 and 5:48.30.

  • Both junior Cara Morris and freshman Sayde White shaved off over 10 seconds for their career-bests in the 3000-meter, timing in at 11:24.12 and 11:36.32.

  • Four Hawks worked to earn a first-place finish in the women's 4x400 relay. Junior Meredith Pasquarosa, Nicolosi, Ofori and Cady ran 3:58.19 and will take home gold.

  • The Hawks competed in the 4x800m relay as well, with sophomore Samantha Ducharme, freshman Brenna Woodbury, sophomore Erica Korowski, and junior Finleigh Simonds combining for a time of 10:02.03 for a fourth-place finish.

Women's Field

  • Junior Ava Houle cleared 11.01m in the triple jump, securing a fourth-place finish.

  • Freshman Makayla Kokonezis secured the top spot on the podium, jumping 1.55m in the high jump, creating a new career best. Behind her for the Hawks was sophomore Petrina Ofori in fifth place who cleared 1.50m and freshman Greta Hartung who jumped 1.50m, setting a PR.
