BOSTON – The Saint Anselm College men's and women's track & field teams competed on day one of the Northeast 10 Conference Indoor Championships at the TRACK at New Balance on Thursday.
With most of Thursday's events being preliminary races, the women's team currently sits in third place with 27 points while the men stand in sixth with 12 points as just six women's and five men's events were scored as finals.
Men's Track

Sophomore Leo Sheriff earned a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles preliminary race, finishing in 8.31 seconds, qualifying to compete in tomorrow's final. He was followed by freshman Gavin Lombara who finished fourth at 8.43, also qualifying for Friday's final. In addition, junior Stephen Quinn and freshman Marlon Tullis turned in a pair of PRs, clocking 8.54 and 8.96.

Junior Jaidin Haynes clocked in at 6.95 seconds in the 60-meter dash prelims, earning a fourth-place finish, qualifying for the final. Lombara qualified for his second final, placing fifth at 6.91 in the 60m dash. Also participating in the 60-meter was sophomore Joseph D'Angelo who timed a new PR at 7.03.

Sophomore Logan Montgomery won the 400-meter dash preliminary race with a time of 48.37 seconds. Montgomery also qualified for tomorrow's 200-meter dash final, winning that preliminary race at 21.45 seconds, his fastest 200m time of the season.

The Saint Anselm Distance Medley Relay race team placed third, scoring six points for the Hawks, as the team of sophomores Luke Manzi and Daniel Leet, junior Brady Ash and Wetzel combined for a time of 10:38.92.

Women's Track

A pair of sophomores, Reese Nicolosi and Petrina Ofori, secured sixth and seventh-place finishes in the 60m hurdles, qualifying for tomorrow's final with times of 9.05 and 9.16 seconds. Both times marked new personal bests for the duo.

Junior Rebecca Cady and freshman Sophia Guzman earned their way into tomorrow's 60m dash finals, clocking in at 7.84 and 7.93, respectively. Both times matched their PRs in the event. Freshman Samantha DiFonte recorded a new personal best in the 60m dash as well, beating her previous by just a hundredth of a second and timing in at 8.22.

A trio of Hawks qualified to race in the 800-meter run finals tomorrow, led by junior Finleigh Simonds who narrowly missed her PR at 2:23.7. Sophomore Sam Ducharme, and freshman Jill Olson also qualified with times of 2:25.17, and 2:27.69, placing seventh and eighth. Olson's time of 2:27.69 marks a new PR in the 800m run for the freshman. In addition, freshman Brenna Woodbury and junior Gracie Flynn also raced new personal bests in the 800, clocking 2:27.73 and 2:33.98.

Junior Abby Bemis recorded one point for the Hawks team score in the 5,000-meter race final, placing eighth with a PR of 19:48.62. Freshman Gretchen Uthoff raced 20:08.34, also earning a PR on Thursday.
Women's Field

Freshman Alaina Morris became the first Hawk to podium in an individual event, coming in third place in the pole vault final, matching her PR of 3.20m as she tallied six points. Turning in a career-best in the pole vault as well, junior Lidya Belanger cleared 2.65.
