WORCESTER, Mass. – The Saint Anselm College women's basketball team fell in a Northeast 10 Conference matchup at Andrew Laska Gymnasium, 53-48, against Assumption University on Wednesday.

How it Happened
In a low-scoring first quarter, the Hawks jumped out to an early 8-4 lead, but the Greyhounds ended the quarter on a 12-2 run, leading 16-10 heading into the second.
After increasing their lead to seven, 19-12, Assumption missed three straight shots and Saint Anselm forced a pair of turnovers to make it a one-possession game, 19-16. Forbes and Trapper helped the Hawks retake the lead at the break, as Saint Anselm carried a 22-21 edge heading into halftime.
The third quarter was all Saint Anselm, leading by as much as 10, 44-34, outscoring the Greyhounds 22-15 while shooting 9-13 (69.2%) from the field as the Hawks led 44-36 heading into the fourth.
Assumption opened the fourth with a three-pointer, sparking a 9-0 run as the Greyhounds retook the lead, 45-44. Saint Anselm stuck with Assumption down the stretch, but after a fast break layup put the Greyhounds up 49-48, the Hawks failed to score as Assumption secured the win, 53-48.
