NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The Northeast 10 Conference released its seventh and final edition of the indoor track & field weekly awards for the season. The release features two members of the Saint Anselm College men's track & field team with sophomore Logan Montgomery named Track Athlete of the Week, and sophomore Colin Burns tabbed Field Athlete of the Week.
This past weekend, Montgomery participated in the Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston University. For the second week in a row, the sophomore hit the national qualifying mark, this time in the 400-meter dash. He posted a time of 47.52 while earning a fifth-place finish out of 37 athletes competing in the invite.
Burns competed at the Tufts Cupid Invite this past weekend where he participated in the men's weight throw in which he threw 16.42m. The sophomore set a new PR as this was his first toss reaching the 16m mark. In doing so, he set a new program record for the second time this year and earned a fifth place finish out of 58 athletes competing.
Montgomery and Burns will both be competing later this week in the NE10 Conference Championship, which will be held on Thursday, Feb. 19 and Friday, Feb. 20. at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston.
