NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Saint Anselm College women's basketball team fell in a Northeast 10 Conference matchup at the James Moore Field House to Southern Connecticut State University, 67-47, on Wednesday.

How it Happened
Junior
Meghan Trapper opened the game with a pair of three-pointers to spark a 10-2 run for the Hawks, but a strong finish to the first from the Owls made the score 16-12 in favor of Saint Anselm heading into the second.
The Hawks started the second quarter on a 10-2 scoring run, building a 12-point edge, 26-14. Southern Connecticut ended the half scoring 17 of the next 20 points in the game to take a 31-29 lead at the break. Nelson scored eight points in the second quarter to lead the Hawks.
SCSU scored the first 14 points of the second half and outscored Saint Anselm 23-9 in the third as the Owls led 54-38 heading into the fourth quarter. SCSU led for the rest of the game, winning the NE10 matchup, 67-47.
