NORTH ATTLEBORO, MASS. – Eight Saint Anselm College student-athletes were selected to the Northeast 10 Academic All-Conference team for the 2025 fall season, the league announced on Tuesday.

Senior Nina Muir and sophomores Kaitlyn LeBrun, Meghan Deneen, and Samantha Swidorski of the women's soccer team, senior Thomas Murray of the football team, sophomore Meghan Carey of the field hockey team, and seniors Christian Wetzel and Cara Morris of the men's & women's cross country teams were all selected to the NE10's Fall Academic All-Conference Team.

To be eligible for the NE10's Academic All-Conference Team, student athletes must have been named to their sport's All-Conference Team's (First, Second, Third, or Defensive), they must have spent at least two consecutive semester at their institution as a full-time student, and they must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.30.

In total, 118 student-athletes across the NE10 earned the recognition for the fall season, with Bentley leading the way with 20 and Franklin Pierce in second with 16. Women's soccer led all fall sports with 25 selections.

After winning the NE10 championship this fall, the women's soccer team continues to pick up accolades, leading Saint Anselm's pool of Academic All-Conference honorees with four. LeBrun adds to her already extensive collection of postseason awards, as she's now been named to the Northeast 10 All-Conference First Team, NE10 All-Tournament Team, the NE10 Championship Most Outstanding Player, and D2 CCA All-East Region First Team.

LeBrun anchored the Hawks' defense that allowed the fewest shots on goal in the league (76 in 18 games). She also netted a goal in the 2-2 draw at then-No. 20 Wilmington (Del.) on Sept. 12, while starting all 18 contests.

Muir earns the academic honor after picking up a First Team All-East Region selection from the United Soccer Coaches organization and NE10 All-Conference Second Team honors. The senior forward from Southington, Conn., ranked second on the team with 14 points, scoring six goals with two assists. Two of the six goals proved to be game-winners, and Muir appeared in all 18 games with 10 starts.

Deneen's Academic All-Conference honor adds to a list of accolades including United Soccer Coaches All-East Region First Team, Northeast 10 All-Conference Second Team, D2 CCA All-East Region Second Team, and College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. Deneen paced the Hawks with eight goals and 21 points while tacking on five assists. Her goals and points ranked within the top ten in the NE10, and she also ranked in the top ten for both shots and shots on goal while starting all 18 games for Saint Anselm this season.

Deneen's season was highlighted by the championship-winning penalty kick in the NE10 Finale over Franklin Pierce to give Saint Anselm its first conference title since 1991. She was also awarded NE10 Player of the Week this season.

Swidorski tied the program record for most appearances in net in a single season and was named to the NE10 All-Conference Third team before earning College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team honors. Swidorski started every game for the Hawks while posting a 1.05 goals-against-average, which ranked in the top five in the Conference. Swidorski also posted three shutouts during the season and never gave up more than two goals in a game. She posted a 10-2-5 record throughout the season and made several key saves throughout the playoffs to anchor the Hawks on their NE10 Championship run.

Carey earned the first All-America honors of her career, being named to the Second Team following a breakout season for the sophomore midfielder. Carey was named to the NFHCA All-East Region First Team after producing seven goals and adding one assist over 22 games after tallying just one point in her freshman campaign. Carey recorded two game-winning goals including a double-overtime stunner to defeat NE10 rival Bentley University in a conference matchup on Oct. 22.

Murray was a special teams star for the football team as the starting punter and was named to the NE10's All-Conference Second Team Defense. Murray earned the all-conference honors after posting a career-best 40.3 yards per punt, recording seven punts that traveled 50+ yards over the course of the season. Murray had ten punts inside the opponents' 20-yard line and recorded one tackle on the year. The Quincy, Mass. native recorded a 50+ yard punt in six of his 10 games played this season, highlighted by 277 total yards (46.2 yards per punt) against Merrimack College.

From the women's cross country team, Morris led the Hawks at the NE10 championship race right here at Saint Anselm, as she finished 10th in a field of 92 runners, with a time of 24:30.8. Her top ten finish earned her a spot on the NE10 All-Conference Second Team.

In the men's 8K field of 94 runners at NE10 championships, Wetzel paced the Hawks with a 16th-place finish in 27:24.4. With the top 20 finish, Wetzel was recognized as a member of the NE10 All-Conference Third Team.
