How It Happened

Framingham State struck first with an early power play goal at 2:44, but Saint Anselm responded as Rogles tied the game at 1-1 at 8:51, set up by Linart. Martins put the Hawks ahead just over five minutes later with his first of the night, giving Saint Anselm a 2-1 lead at the first intermission.

In the second period, Saint Anselm took command with five unanswered goals. Cordeiro opened the scoring in the middle frame, followed by a Manning tally and a power play strike from Linart. Richards and Manning added additional goals to fuel the Hawks' lead in the final seven minutes of the second to make it 7-1 heading into the final 20 minutes of regulation.

Though Framingham State cut the deficit with a pair of third-period power play goals, Martins capped off the scoring for the Hawks with his second goal of the night coming with 8:39 to play.
