MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team was defeated in overtime, 4-3, by Westfield State University on Tuesday night at Sullivan Arena.

How it Happened
The Hawks took a 1-0 lead 8:17 into the first period as senior Luke Linart opened the scoring with a highlight-reel goal, beating several Owls before firing in a wrister.
Westfield State went on to tie the game at 1-1 just 33 seconds into the second period with a power play goal. The Owls took their first lead of the night less than seven minutes later with an even strength tally.
Saint Anselm responded 50 seconds later as sophomore Brendan Manning picked up a loose puck out in front and buried it to level the score at 2-2. With 6:22 left in the second, senior Garrett Alberti sent a wrist shot into the top left corner, finishing off a well-executed 3-on-2 rush for the Hawks to regain the lead.
A second power play goal for the Owls came with 4:04 left in the second, knotting the score up at 3-3 heading into the final 20 minutes of regulation.
Neither squad was able to break the deadlock in the third period, sending the game to overtime, when Westfield State's Raphael Seguin lit the lamp 1:13 into the frame to secure the victory.
