MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team earned a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory over Post University on Friday night at Sullivan Arena in Northeast 10 Conference play, with sophomore Brendan Manning playing the hero in the opening minute of overtime.

How It Happened
After a scoreless first period, the Hawks broke the deadlock in the second frame as senior Cam Collins slipped a shot past the Post netminder at the 9:00 mark, on assists from classmates Garrett Alberti and Luke Linart, giving Saint Anselm a 1-0 edge.
Post rallied in the third period, with a goal coming with just seconds remaining in regulation to knot the game at 1-1 and force overtime.
In the extra period, sophomore Brendan Manning buried the sudden-death winner at 0:57, ripping a shot from the slot on a feed from Alberti to lift the Hawks to their first victory of the second half.

Saint Anselm (4-9-4, 4-3-2 NE10) will return to Sullivan Arena on Saturday, Jan. 17 for the final game of the series against Post (3-12-1, 2-7-1 NE10). Puck drop is slated for 4:00 p.m.
