How it Happened

Pace opened the game with a three-pointer, but the next 13 points went to the Hawks, with four of the five Saint Anselm starters getting on the board, led by sophomore Paulius Rapolis with four points.

A quick 7-2 run for the Setters made it a five-point game, 15-10, but it was all Saint Anselm for the next five minutes as the Hawks went on a 16-2 run. Davies scored seven points, and Morissette knocked down a pair of threes during the run to give the Hawks their largest lead of the night, 31-12.

Pace ended the first half with the final six points, trailing 31-18 at the break. Davies led all scorers with 10 points, and Morissette was close behind with nine in the first half. Pace carried its momentum into the second with the first five points to make the score 31-23, until a Rapolis hook shot ended the 11-0 run for the setters.

Pace continued to chip away, and a three-pointer from Paxton Davidson made it a five-point game, 46-41, but junior Jack Medalie answered with a three of his own on the next possession.

Saint Anselm held the Setters scoreless for the final 5:45 of the game to secure the win, 57-41.
