How it Happened
Saint Anselm's
Chance Prouty had the first shot on goal of the season in the third minute, ripping a left-footed strike from the center of the box that was secured by Hunt.
Molloy had their first scoring opportunity of the game in the tenth minute, but the Lions were denied by Hood, who made a leaping save with his right hand to deflect the ball over the net.
Hood made an impressive save in the 21st minute, diving to his right on a point-blank shot from inside the box to keep the game knotted up at 0-0.
In the waning seconds of the first half, Hood made another leaping save to his left on a free kick just before the halftime buzzer.
The Hawks came out of the break in control of the ball, generating a scoring opportunity when a header by Poschmann sailed just over the bar in the 50th minute.
Prouty crossed a pass to the opposite side of the field, where Mantegari laced a shot on net, but Hunt made the diving save to his left in the 60th minute.
In the 78th minute, Jones let a shot fly from deep that gave the Lions a scare as it went just wide of the net.
Despite the Hawks possessing the ball for most of the second half, a yellow card from Jones in the 89th minute gave the Lions a last-ditch effort from a few steps out of the 18-yard box, but the free kick went high over the net.
