NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Saint Anselm College football junior quarterback Drew Forkner was named the Northeast 10 (NE10) Offensive Player of the Week after helping the Hawks to a 34-10 season-opening victory at Pace on Saturday night.
Forkner, who has now earned the weekly honors from the conference for the second time in his career, completed 14 of his 19 pass attempts and racked up 162 yards through the air with three passing touchdowns to three separate receivers to his credit. He also added 53 yards on the ground, with a 50 yards rush coming in the fourth quarter.
The Hawks snapped a three-game losing streak to the Setters, which dated back to the 2021 season and now sit at 17-11 in the all-time series against Pace. The win also propelled head coach Joe Adam to the top of the record book as the winningest in program history.
Forkner and the Hawks will head to North Andover, Mass. on Saturday, Sep. 6 for a showdown against Division I Merrimack at 6:00 p.m. at Duane Stadium.
