MANCHESTER, N.H. – Saint Anselm College Interim Director of Athletics Phil Rowe has announced the hiring of Nathan Taschereau as the new women's tennis head coach. Taschereau, who becomes the 13th head coach in program history, brings years of tennis experience as a coach and player to the Hilltop.
"We are thrilled to welcome Nathan Taschereau as our new head women's tennis coach," said Rowe. "His passion for developing student-athletes, combined with his extensive coaching experience, make him an outstanding fit to lead our program. We are excited for the energy and expertise he will bring to our team and look forward to an exciting future for Saint Anselm women's tennis under his leadership."
"It is an exciting opportunity to take the next step into a head coaching role after 10 years as an assistant," said Taschereau. "This position is especially meaningful given the chance to work with such a talented and experienced group of student-athletes. I look to support the team's continued growth and help each student-athlete reach their full potential, both on and off the court."
Taschereau spent 10 years as an assistant coach with the men's and women's tennis teams at nearby Northeast 10 (NE10) institution Southern New Hampshire University. Along with his duties at SNHU, he also serves as the head tennis pro at Next Level Tennis and the Allard Center YMCA Junior Tournament training program helping high-school aged players develop their skillset and prepare for the collegiate level. Previously, he served as the hitting coach for the New Hampshire Tennis Academy and ran the summer tennis programs at the Copoco Country Club.
As a student-athlete at Colby-Sawyer College, he played in the No. 1 singles and doubles spots, never dropping a match against conference competition. For his efforts, he was a two-time North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East Division Player of the Year while also earning NAC First Team Singles and Doubles honors in both his sophomore and junior seasons.
Taschereau graduated from SNHU in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
