RINDGE, N.H. – The fifth-seeded Saint Anselm College women's tennis team put together a 4-1 victory over fourth-seeded Franklin Pierce University in the First Round of the Northeast 10 Conference Championship on Friday afternoon at the FPU Tennis Courts.
The victory marks the first playoff win for the Hawks since the 2003-04 campaign, when Saint Anselm defeated Saint Michael's in the NE10 semifinal round on April 24, 2004.

- Garbo earned a 6-2, 6-4 sweep over Gabarro at the top flight to double the Hawks' lead.
- Börschig fell (1-6, 2-6) to Gonzalez at the second court as the Ravens collected their lone point.
- Makarenko battled to a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 4 to put the Hawks up by a pair again, 3-1.
- Heredia Osante's 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 6 clinched the match for the Hawks.
- Gonzalez Ramos and Kochenbach had their matches go unfinished.

The Hawks (4-9) will travel down to Queens, New York for an NE10 Semifinal matchup against top-seeded Adelphi University (15-5) at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Monday, April 27 beginning at 11 a.m.
