Morin, Ducharme Secure Event Wins in Strong Team Showing at Merrimack College Alumni Classic

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Saint Anselm women's track & field recorded two first-place finishes and several strong performances at the Merrimack College Alumni Classic, serving as their final tune-up before the NE10 Outdoor Championships in May.


UP NEXT: 

  • Saint Anselm is set to compete in the NE10 Outdoor Championship on Friday, May 2nd. The event will be hosted by SNHU, marking the third time this season the Hawks will make the trip across the river to compete there.


EVENT WINNERS:

  • Freshman Sam Ducharme (Bedford, N.H.) led the field in the 400m, finishing with a career-best time of 59.16. She has now collected wins in the 400m, 4x400m, 600m, and 800m in her career.

  • Sophomore Sophia Morin (Brunswick, Maine) took first place in the javelin with a throw of 38.00m, marking her second career win in the event. She also placed fifth in the hammer throw, reaching a distance of 41.79m.


HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Freshman Erica Korowski (Hudson, Mass.) set a career best in the javelin with a throw of 36.26m, earning a third-place finish.

  • Junior Brianne Rett (Uxbridge, Mass.) set a career best in the discus, reaching 33.22m. She added solid performances in the hammer throw (41.40m) and shot put (11.17m).

  • Sophomore Sara Harris (Meredith, N.H.) posted a career-best leap of 5.17m in the long jump. She also competed in the triple jump, finishing with a mark of 10.31m.

  • Freshman Jessica Bremberg (Saugus, Mass.) had a standout day, setting career bests in the triple jump (10.52m) — an improvement of over half a meter — and in the 200m (27.70). She finished fourth in the triple jump.

  • Senior Ava O'Donnell (Raynham, Mass.) shaved five seconds off her previous best in the 1500m, placing second with a time of 4:49.09.

  • Sophomore Sophia Olsen (Rochester, N.H.) made her debut in the 1500m and set a career-best time of 5:05.03.

  • Senior Nora Conway (Stoneham, Mass.) claimed third place in the 5000m, crossing the line in 19:00.76.

  • Freshman Reese Nicolosi (Pelham, N.H.) continued her strong season with a career-best 15.27 in the 100m hurdles, finishing second. She also took second in the 400m hurdles, clocking in at 1:05.92.

  • Junior Rebecca Cady (Lowell, Mass.) sprinted to a career-best time of 12.29 in the 100m, earning second place. She also helped her team to a third-place finish in the 4x100m with a time of 48.23.
