Valentine's Recap: Women's Track & Field Finishes First at Plymouth State Meet

BOSTON, Mass. – The Saint Anselm College women's track & field team competed at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday February 14th and at the Alumni meet hosted by Plymouth State Univeristy on Saturday February 15th. 

UP NEXT: 
  • Saint Anselm will travel to Boston, Massachusetts for the Northeast-10 Indoor Championship at the Track at New Balance on February 22nd. 
HIGHLIGHTS (DAVID HEMERY VALENTINE INVITATIONAL):
  • Junior Rebecca Cady (Lowell, Mass.) competed in the 200 meter event on Friday finishing with a time of 25.68, just short of her personal best time of 25.62.
  • In the 800 meter event two Hawks competed with freshman Samantha Ducharme (Bedford, N.H.) finishing first for Saint Anselm with a personal best time of 2:19.14 and sophomore Shannon Bresnahan (Beverly, Mass.) finishing second with a time of 2:28.46. 
HIGHLIGHTS (ALUMNI MEET AT PLYMOUTH STATE):
  • In the field events junior Brianne Rett (Uxbridge, Mass.) competed in the weight throw with a mark of 13.50 meters, her personal best distance and in the shot put with another personal best mark of 11.31 meters. 
  • In the sprints sophomore Mia Cruz (Nashua, N.H.) ran in the 60 meter dash registering a time of 7.93. 
  • Two Hawks competed in the long jump event with sophomore Ava Houle (Litchfield, N.H.) out jumping teammate Jessica Bremberg (Saugas, Mass.) 4.89 meters to 4.79 meters. This was Bremberg's personal best in the event. 
  • Freshman Reese Nicolosi (Pelham, N.H.) competed in the 60 meter hurdles grabbing a time of 9.39, her personal best. 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • At the Alumni meet in Plymouth the Hawks placed first of three teams.
