Valentine's Recap: Men's Track & Field Have Successful Weekend

BOSTON, Mass. – The Saint Anselm College men's track & field team competed at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday February 14th and at the Alumni meet hosted by Plymouth State Univeristy on Saturday February 15th. 

UP NEXT: 
  • Saint Anselm will travel to Boston, Massachusetts for the Northeast-10 Indoor Championship at the Track at New Balance on February 22nd. 
HIGHLIGHTS (DAVID HEMERY VALENTINE INVITATIONAL):
  • Freshman Logan Montgomery (Weare, N.H.) registered a strong weekend for the Hawks in Boston, competing in the 200 meter with a time of 21.88 and a time of 48.47 in the 400 meter. Both of these times for Montgomery were his college best times. 
  • Senior Kaleb Lewis (Austin, Texas) competed in the 200 meter dash as well finishing behind Montgomery with a time of 22.23. 
HIGHLIGHTS (ALUMNI MEET AT PLYMOUTH STATE):
  • Junior Jaidin Haynes (Sayreville, N.J.) had a successful meet in Plymouth competing in the 60 meter dash with a time just off of his school record at 7.00 seconds and in the long jump event where he earned a mark of 6.38 meters.  
  • In the distance event of 3000 meters junior Neil Harrington (Malden, Mass.) ran to a time of 9:29.29, his personal best time in the event. 
  • Freshman Colin Burns (Beverly, Mass.) competed in two events for the Hawks tabbing a distance of 13.20 meters in the weight throw and 12.14 meters in the shot put event. The distance in the shot put event was Burns personal best distance. 
  • In the 60 meter hurdles freshman Leo Sheriff (Beverly, Mass.) grabbed a time of 8.49, 0.04 seconds off his personal best time. 
  • Rounding out the men's side at Plymouth was freshman Peter Hogan (Newport, N.H.) competing in the high jump event and earning a mark of 1.90 meters. 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • At the Alumni meet in Plymouth the Hawks placed second of four teams.
