How it Happened

Medalie opened the scoring for the Hawks with back-to-back three-pointers, and sophomore Paulius Rapolis followed it up with a dunk as the Hawks led 8-5. A Ristic three-pointer put Saint Anselm up by seven, 12-5, as the Hawks made three of their first four shot attempts from long range. Medalie's third three of the game made it 21-14, but Felician responded with a 10-0 run to take a 24-21 lead with 10 minutes to go in the half.

The Hawks fell behind by six, 32-26, but countered with eight unanswered points capped off by a Rapolis fastbreak dunk off a steal from Medalie to retake the lead, 34-32. The Golden Falcons went on a 7-0 run to lead 41-36, but Medalie hit a tough two in the lane while falling over and then knocked down his fourth three of the game to tie the score at 41-41. The score remained tied at the break, 46-46.

The second half started with seven lead changes as neither team could string together stops and scores until a 9-2 Saint Anselm run put the Hawks up by six, 64-58. The Golden Falcons retook the lead for the eighth change of the half with a 15-0 scoring burst, as they led by nine, 73-64.

Medalie ended the Felician run with a layup, but the Golden Falcons continued to convert on their chances, going up by as much as 15, 83-68. Felician led the rest of the way, securing the non-conference win over Saint Anselm, 91-77.
